High in the Himalayas - Trekking Nepal's Annapurna Region
A seven-hour winding bus ride away from the capital of Kathmandu hides a weeks long trek famous to hikers around the world. Starting in the jungle and winding its way through rhododendron forests and snow-packed peaks, the Annapurna Circuit journeys around the 7th largest mountain in the world and onto the Tibetan Plateau. The hike is known for the grand finale: the crossing of the Thorung La Pass, at 17,769 ft (5,416m) it's the highest trekking pass in the world.
